CDG PAC AGM & Elections – May 28
Join us for PAC’s final meeting of the school year, which also serves as our Annual General Meeting and Executive Elections. The AGM will take place on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 7:00 pm in the CDG Library Learning Commons. We extend a warm invitation to all parents, including those who will be joining us from our feeder schools!

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are seeking enthusiastic parents to fill essential roles within the PAC Executive team for 2024-2025. We need parents to step forward and take on these positions to ensure the continuity of Government Gaming Grant funds. The available roles for nomination include President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, DPAC Representative, and Fundraising Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to actively engage in shaping the CDG experience for their children and the broader school community.

Library Closure – June 7th
It's coming up to the end of year, and with that the library will need to close in order to conduct our inventories and prepare for next year. This year will we officially close the library to students beginning June 7th. We request that all books be returned by June 21st at the latest.

Pizza Hot Lunch fundraisers
The Grade 8’s are fundraising for their end of year adventure days through a series of Friday Ricardos Pizza Days. The upcoming dates are May 24, and June 7.  Available to order on SchoolCash.  Please note the closing dates on orders will be the Wednesday prior.

Grade 8 Dinner Dance
The Grade 8 Dinner Dance will be held on June 14th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at CDGMS in the gym. This is a long-standing Chief Dan George tradition which is highly anticipated by the students. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and students can mingle, take photos, and enjoy refreshments from the mocktail bar. A gourmet, 3-course dinner will be prepared and served at 6:00 p.m., and the dance floor will be set up for a dance from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Throughout the evening, students have the opportunity to receive a multitude of door prizes. The cost for this evening is $20. We will need parent volunteers at the end of the evening (9:00 – 9:30 p.m.) to help with dismantling and clean-up. Please email emanuelle.bellavance@abbyschools.ca if you could help with the Dinner Dance clean-up. Students’ participation in these events is, as usual, contingent upon their continued respectful and co-operative behaviour at school.
Payment
Payment should be done online if possible. This payment has been added to your child's SchoolCash. Payments of cash or cheque (made out to CDGMS) will also be accepted and should be paid to Ms. Garrison in the office. The last day to pay for the dance is on May 31 so that the right amount of food can be purchased.
